How does it work

The Wave Family Tracker application allows you to track people using the GPS locator within their smartphones. If you are wondering how this service works then you are definitely in the right place, so keep reading to learn more about this service.

The Subscriber

To start you must subscribe to the service and become a Subscriber.

As a Subscriber you will be able to register smart phones to track using the web browser on any PC or your smart phone (iPhone, Black Berry, Android, Windows Mobile).

Add Phones to Track

Once you subscribe you'll need to register phones to track. You can do this from the Manage Smart Phones menu option. To add a phone just click the Add New Phone button.

To register a phone just enter a nickname and a description, something to identify the phone. The system will then generate a device key that will be used to uniquely identify the phone within the system. Make sure to take note of this device key since you will need to provide this within the phone activation process. From this point on, you will need to install the WaveTracker or WaveFinder applications on the smart phones as described in the following sections.

Activate Phone to Track

After you register a phone, you need to activate it using the WaveTracker application and the device key provided by the system. You only need to install the WaveTracker application on the phones you want to track. So, after you install the WaveTracker activate the phone by entering the device key in the settings section. Once the phone is activated it will publish the current location based on the interval you set.

Track a Phone from your Smart Phone

To track a phone from your smart phone you need to install the Wave Finder application. Once installed you will be required to provide the user name and password you used to register on the site.

Then you can view and manage your phones and track the current location or trail history of any of the phones within your list.
