Background: In an ever increasing mobile society and the hectic pace being kept by families everywhere, a need has been identified to easily monitor in real time the whereabouts of family members.

Situation: Concern family members would like the ability to monitor their family member’s whereabouts without the need to call or be called.

Solution: Wave Technology Group has designed a solution encompassing the Wave Foundation Framework, GPS, Smartphone, and 3G Network.  This application monitors the whereabouts of one or more family members by reporting to the Wave Foundation Framework parameters about the GPS location, time, and device id.  The service’s offered by the Foundation Framework, resolves the address of the GPS location, logs the time and location, authenticates the devices and then applies configured rules to the subscriber.  Those rules can be notification rules, or alarms set by the subscriber.  The subscriber has 2 ways to monitor their family members.  Either through a web browser application through any web browser, or through a client on their smartphones.  The subscriber can request the last known location, or multiple locations and the information can be displayed as text or drawn on a map.
